If you flew into San Diego on Tuesday on a flight from Baltimore through Denver, public health officials want to make sure you were vaccinated for measles.
According to the county Health and Human Services Agency, Southwest Airlines Fight No. 3423 arriving at Lindbergh Field at 11 p.m. Tuesday carried a passenger exposed to the disease.
The measles virus can survive in the air or on surfaces for up to two hours, so public health nurses are in the process of identifying and contacting people who were on the plane.
“Anyone who was on that flight should watch for symptoms and contact their health care provider by telephone first if they show any signs of this disease,” said Dr. Wilma Wooten, the county public health director.
