Another boat hijacking by pirates.

The associated press has reported that pirates have hijacked a Danish sailboat with four adults and three children aboard as they were crossing the Indian Ocean, Denmark's government said Monday. These same pirates were responsible for the deaths of a family from San Diego, CA, who were on vacation. Two days before the Danish sailboat sent the distress signal, four Americans were killed by Somali pirates in a hostage standoff. They were the first Americans slain by Somali pirates since a wave of attacks began six years ago. A distress signal was sent from the danish ship on Thursday according to the Danish Foreign Ministry.

How much longer should it take when sailors are able to feel safe sailing around the world again without fear of being hijacked or even killed? It's shameful, when families of loved ones involved in these situations, have to fear the worst as these actions take place. This matter ought to be a red flag signal for both Europe and the United States, as something needs to be done on concluding this situation. The mere thought that this has been going on for 6 years isn't a good sign, especially since a family has been killed. What other action is required, before countries involved in these hijacking cases finally take action against the Somali pirates, thus preventing another family(ies) from burying their loved ones.

Were this happening to an important dignitary, it'd be a sure bet this matter would've been concluded by now. All boaters need to know their own countries really care about their safety and well being, as they're sailing around other countries exploring different cultures. It's beyond time for action, it's a matter of when countries influenced by this are going to act bringing an end to the Samoli pirates evil ways.
