Vaccines: Parents’, Not Government’s Choice

Story by Dr. Julian Whitaker
I’m flying to Sacramento on Wednesday, June 27, to testify before the Senate Health Committee and urge committee members to oppose AB 2109. If passed, this bill would make it even more difficult for parents to refuse to have their children vaccinated.
Under current California law, proof of immunization against diphtheria, measles, mumps, rubella, polio, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, Hib, and chickenpox must be submitted before a child starts school or daycare. Parents can, however, get an exemption by filing a letter or affidavit stating that immunization is contrary to their beliefs.
Under AB 2109, written parental directives will not be enough to exempt children from mandated vaccinations. A form signed by a health care professional would also be required.
Folks, this is yet another unnecessary, burdensome, and costly government regulation that violates freedom of choice and parents’ rights. Worse, it stands to harm millions of children, who are highly susceptible to the adulterated bacteria, viruses, aluminum, mercury, formaldehyde, and other toxins in vaccines that are injected into their growing bodies. Rates of autism, learning disabilities, asthma, allergies, and other childhood health problems have dramatically increased over the past few decades—an increase that goes hand in hand with the increasing number of vaccines forced upon our kids.
I encourage Californians to phone or fax members of Senate Health Committee and encourage them to kill this bill. (See names and contact information below.) If you are interested in attending this hearing and voicing your opposition, it will be held this Wednesday, June 27th, at 1:30 p.m., in room 4203 at the Capitol in Sacramento.
This isn’t just about California—it should concern all Americans. Other states have their own means of ensuring vaccine compliance, and legislators throughout the country are being pressured by pharmaceutical interests and other lobbyists to further tighten exemption “loopholes.”  To learn more, visit the National Vaccine Information Center, nvic.org.
Thanks for your help—and pass this on!
